This policy applies to personal data processed through the livehat platform, including stream recording workflows, clip generation, media library management, captioning, team features, and social publishing integrations.
Effective date: April 26, 2026 • Version: 1.0
This Privacy Policy explains how Livehat, Inc. collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data when you use livehat. It also describes your privacy rights and how to exercise them.
This policy applies to personal data processed through the livehat platform, including stream recording workflows, clip generation, media library management, captioning, team features, and social publishing integrations.
We may collect account data (name, email, login metadata), organization and team data (role assignments and memberships), service usage data (activity logs, job status, performance and error telemetry), content data (videos, clips, thumbnails, captions, and associated metadata), and integration data (OAuth tokens and account identifiers for connected social platforms).
When you connect social platforms such as YouTube, X, Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok, we receive information permitted by each provider and your authorization scope. This may include account IDs, page/channel metadata, access tokens, refresh tokens, and publishing response data such as post URLs or media IDs.
We use personal data to provide and operate the service, authenticate users, manage teams and permissions, process media workflows, publish to connected social accounts at your direction, secure the platform, detect abuse, troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, and communicate essential service updates.
Where applicable, we process personal data based on one or more legal bases: performance of a contract, legitimate interests (such as security and service improvement), compliance with legal obligations, and consent (for specific processing where required by law).
We use cookies and similar mechanisms for secure authentication, session management, and service functionality. Certain cookies are strictly necessary for sign-in and protected access. Disabling required cookies may prevent parts of the platform from working.
We do not sell personal data. We may share data with infrastructure and service providers needed to operate the platform (for example hosting, storage, and auth providers), with connected social platforms when you initiate publishing actions, with your organization admins consistent with workspace permissions, and where required by law or valid legal process.
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, such as contractual protections and security controls.
We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security records. Retention periods depend on data type, account status, and legal requirements. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls, credential protections, transport encryption where available, and monitoring for suspicious activity. No method of storage or transmission is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to request data portability. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise rights, contact us at [email protected]. We may verify identity before fulfilling requests.
If you use livehat through an organization, that organization may control your account, workspace data, and administrative settings. Requests related to organization content may need to be directed to your organization administrator first.
livehat is not directed to children and is not intended for users below the minimum age permitted by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
The platform may link to or integrate with third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We recommend reviewing those policies before connecting accounts or sharing content through external platforms.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes become effective on the posted effective date unless otherwise stated. Continued use of the service after updates indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
